Isbidin Ancient Church

The valleys of Kayseri are like the lines on the city's face; they are deep and shaped by history.

These valleys are generally located from east to west, and each boasts a completely different kind of beauty.

For centuries, the people of Kayseri have lived in these valleys, meticulously shaping them like delicate lace.

Within the valleys lie underground cities built for defense, secret tunnels, cisterns, oil mills, churches, mosques, houses, stables, and countless other structures.

Located in what is now called Bağpınar, but formerly known as Isbıdın, lies nestled in one of Kayseri's uniquely beautiful valleys.

Isbidin is located at the western exit of the Koramaz or Akbin Valley and is spread across both sides of the valley. The village contains numerous stone houses.

I learned from the villagers that there was an ancient church in the village, and with their guidance, I reached it.

The church is situated on the side of the valley, facing northwest. Upon entering, I saw the uniquely beautiful decorations and frescoes; it is a cultural heritage site.

I have included the photos below for your viewing pleasure.
