Hoşap Castle
I recommend you visit this magnificent castle located on the Van – Başkale road.
The Hoşap River flows right next to it, and a historic bridge is located at its foot.
The castle is situated on a steep rock. It has a structure reminiscent of medieval castles.
It has a very heavy metal door with bullet holes in it.
The castle is being restored and has numerous sections including a dungeon, training area, cavalry entrance, etc.
The castle's imposing presence on the large rock is worth seeing.
It survived major sieges in its time and was used as a very effective fortress during the feudal period.
