Değirmenköy Plateau
It is said that the old name of this small village at the foot of Mount Erek was Tarman. With the arrival of the Republic, it was renamed Değirmenköy. Above the village, nestled in the embrace of Mount Erek, lies a beautiful plateau. The plateau boasts numerous freshwater springs and is home to hundreds of varieties of flowers and herbs. Two of the springs on the plateau are named Tacettin and İbrahim. There is also a large rock on the plateau, where the village imam reportedly recites the call to prayer during Ramadan. The villagers used to dig into the ground and build clay ovens, some of which are still standing today. I measured the altitude of the plateau as 2455 meters.
