Daresiv

This area, accessible via a road passing through Değirmenköy, is called Daresiv by the locals and contains freshwater springs, numerous old poplar, willow, and apple trees. Indeed, the word Daresiv itself means apple tree.

Daresiv is situated atop a hidden valley in the Erek Mountains, where freshwater springs originating from the area south of Değirmenköy merge to form a stream that flows through the village.

There is also a tomb in the area that the locals believe to be sacred; this tomb is preserved as a chamber, and people visit it to make wishes.

Our brief investigation of the area where the tomb is located revealed numerous ceramic fragments, and we also saw chambers in the same area of which only stone foundations remain. The fact that the area is located at a point overlooking the valley suggests that it may have been used in ancient times as well.

The fact that people consider this place sacred suggests that it may have been a temple in the past.
