Ali Mountain

Located southeast of Kayseri city center, this mountain is notable for its height of 1871 meters. The charming district of Talas in Kayseri lies at the foot of Ali Mountain. Although Ali Mountain appears to have two peaks when viewed from the city, it actually has three peaks, and I estimate that each peak contains a tumulus. You can reach the summit of Ali Mountain on foot or by car; there are hiking trails and a paved road for vehicles.

I came across various structures on the summit of Ali Mountain, which you can see below. It's impossible to know exactly what purpose they served; if anyone knows, please let me know. However, the structures are quite old, and I believe there are Armenian inscriptions on their walls.

I mentioned that Ali Mountain has three peaks. The eastern one currently has a radio antenna erected for military communications, the western peak contains a tumulus and facilities belonging to the Talas municipality, and paragliding is practiced here. The World Hang Gliding Championship was held here, and various events are organized every year; it has a very suitable location for paragliding. Finally, the northern peak contains ancient structures, the purpose of which, as I said, I don't know.

Talas Municipality has also created a picnic area on the slopes of the mountain, where you can barbecue and relax while enjoying the city view. There is also an underground city with cisterns, recently opened to tourism, located at the foot of the mountain. Ali Mountain, with its views of Kayseri city, Mount Erciyes, and cool air, is a mountain worth visiting.
